Welcome to Monkton Wild Camping
Set amongst 19 areas of largely untouched meadows and Bluebell wood, Monkton Barton Wild Camping is nestled in the unspoilt Otter Valley on the edge on the rolling Blackdown Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Located in the beautiful East Devon countryside, only a short distance from Dorset, Monkton Barton is an informal campsite where campers young and old are free to roam and play. Whether you’re a family, couple, group or an individual you can chose to pitch in the largely untouched meadow strewn with buttercups or tucked away in the woods which are home to many different species including badgers, foxes, deer, rabbits and squirrels.
There are many places of interest to be discovered in East Devon including pretty beaches and secluded coves, the wilderness of Dartmoor with its huge stone Tors and the beautiful historic city of Exeter. The South Coast is a short distance away, allowing easy access to the Jurassic coastline and the regency coastal town of Sidmouth; which is well known for its annual folk festival.
Just over a couple of mile from the campsite there is the town of Honiton, known for its antique shops and famous for its historic lace making and at the bottom of the lane Otter Valley Dairy offers seasonal gelato ice creams and hand crafted pizzas.
With its picturesque views and stunning sunsets, Monkton Barton Wild Camping is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet, peaceful getaway in idyllic surroundings.
